Meenachi Kamala Karan, the founder and managing partner of Azlan Meena & Partners, graduated with a Bachelor of Finance from University Utara Malaysia in 2004. After her graduation, she was offered the position of Inventory Accountant within the Accounting Department at the Asia Pacific Accounting Center, IBM Malaysia. After a year, she was offered an esteemed position as Assistant Vice President of the Accounts Department at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Malaysia Berhad. She continued at this bank for seven (7) years. She is well versed within the banking industry and has established professional rapport with the bankers.

Her passion to upgrade herself made her embark in law at the University of Malaysia in 2006. She did part-time law classes on weekends whilst working at the Bank of Tokyo on weekdays. Her hard work had paid off and she completed her Bachelor of Jurisprudence with Honours. She further obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board, Malaysia in the following year itself.
